Outdoor event, market and busking permits
If you're organising an outdoor market, large event or busking in any of the District Council of Tumby Bay’s (the Council) public open spaces, you will need an event permit.
Permits ensure public safety and amenity in public spaces.
Events help make our communities welcoming, healthy, safe and vibrant for all. We recognise that events bring a wealth of benefits to a community, from health and wellbeing of residents through to economic development for local businesses, cultural vibrancy and social engagement.
These activities currently have their own permits:
- busking
- itinerant trader
- markets (for stallholders/vendors)
- street stalls / sidewalk sale.
Any event attracting over 20 people, with some level of risk, or with significant infrastructure will require a permit.
The following events would be categorised as a special event, therefore would require a Special Event Permit:
- fun run
- music event
- cultural celebration
- market
- kids fun fest
- festival
- pageant
- food and wine gathering
- expo.
