Boat Ramps

Tumby Bay

The District Council of Tumby Bay owns and is responsible for the maintenance of the Tumby Bay Marina waterways and embankments.

The Council does not own or manage berths within the marina; all are privately owned.

Mooring of boats within the marina other than at designated pontoon berths is not permitted.

The Council has commissioned a hydro-survey of the Tumby Bay Channel and Marina, which can be accessed here. Please be aware that the information on this chart is current only at the time of survey and may not be relied on for accuracy at any time after this date. In particular, the water depth at the entrance to the marina is subject to change due to seasonal sand movement and changing tide. The Council does not monitor the water depth and owners of larger/deeper vessels are advised to undertake their own investigations prior to attempting to enter the marina.

The Council maintains a two-lane boat ramp within the marina as a service to residents and visitors. The boat ramp is available to all users for a permit fee.

Port Neill

Council also maintains a three-lane boat ramp and breakwater at Port Neill as a service to residents and visitors. The boat ramp is available to all users for a permit fee. Water depth is restricted at low tides and may not be suitable for all boats at all times. The Council has commissioned a hydro-survey of the boat ramp and surrounds, which can be accessed here. Please be aware that the information on this chart is current only at the time of survey and may not be relied on for accuracy at any time after this date. Boat owners are advised to make their own investigations as to the suitability of the facilities for their vessel at any given time.
