It sets a clear direction for the District Council of Tumby Bay and illustrates how Council will meet the expectations and needs of the community in a planned and coordinated manner.
It is a working document that will be continually revised as strategies and actions are completed and new challenges are presented.
This Plan can be used by the Council and community to facilitate a positive economic, social and environmental future for our area.
District Council of Tumby Bay Revised Strategic Plan 2024-2027
In accordance with Section 122 of the Local Government Act 1999, the District Council of Tumby Bay is committed to preparing strategic management plans that outline a long-term vision for the region, ensuring both responsible planning and financial sustainability. These plans, reviewed regularly—typically within two years of each general council election—guide the Council’s decision-making and priority-setting processes.
The District Council of Tumby Bay’s Revised Strategic Plan 2024-2027 is the result of an independent review of the original 2020-2030 Strategic Plan, undertaken after the 2022 general council election. This review was conducted to ensure the plan remains aligned with evolving Council and community aspirations, as well as demographic changes.
This revised plan includes an updated Vision Statement and a focused Action Plan that will provide clear direction for both the Council and the community, as we continue to work together to shape a sustainable and prosperous future for our district.
