Road Resealing Advanced Notice
Council Contractors West Coast Bitumen will be undertaking planned road reseal works in Tumby Bay and Koppio during the period 6 – 13 February. Works will also commence in Ungarra between 13 - 16 February.
Work will be carried out between 7am - 6pm. On street parking restrictions apply after 7am daily.
During these dates, road and property access restrictions will apply to:
Tumby Bay
- Tumby Bay Oval entrance / parking (6/2/24)
- Boat Ramp and Saxon Street (7/2/24)
- Tumby Terrace, Travellers Rest to Goode Avenue (8-9/2/24)
- West Terrace, Bratten Way to Mortlock Street (12/2/24) No parking in eastern carriage way
During works at the Tumby Bay Boat Ramp the Contractors will seek to maintain ramp access as required, although some delays may be necessary. Any ramp users are asked to park vehicles/trailers in the portion of unsealed carpark if possible, or as otherwise directed by the Contractor.
Koppio
- Koppio Road, Koppio (13/2/24)
Ungarra
- Pedler Street (14/2/24)
- Schramm Street (14/2/24) School users please use Ashman Terrace for parking, clear of the intersections
- Lawrie Street (14/2/24)
- Ashman Terrace (15/2/24) School users please use Schramm Street for parking, clear of the intersections
Residents directly impacted by these works have been notified and schools have been informed.
To assist the contractor in completing works safely, efficiently and with a minimum inconvenience, community members should consider the following:
- Ensure that vehicles are not parked on the road or verge
- Ensure that household members, particularly children and animals, are kept well clear of the work zone until road works are completed
- Do not allow water to run into gutters during the above period
- Remain alert to operations being carried out that involve moving machinery and hot bitumen products
- Exercise care and caution when traversing the road works as there may be loose material/stones on the road.
Works will occur subject to weather conditions. Every effort is made to provide accurate dates for completion, however, if the road is not sealed as stated, please allow for continuous working days.
