Background
The 2024 Colour Tumby Festival has been postponed until 7-10 March 2025 and will subsequently be held biennially on the Adelaide Cup March long weekend. The District Council of Tumby Bay (the Council) will also introduce a small-scale community event in March 2024, featuring activities spearheaded by community leaders and groups.
While preserving the essence of the Colour Tumby brand, the 2024 small-scale event will be renamed Colour Tumby Unplugged.
Council members emphasised the importance of retaining the festival's identity in the new event, albeit under a different name. From 2025 onwards, the biennial festival will revert to its original name, the Colour Tumby Festival.
In 2024, the visitor economy will continue to thrive through community activities over the March long weekend, providing cultural and social benefits to the community. Council staff are actively exploring opportunities to bring Adelaide Fringe events, bands, and entertainers to the district during the Colour Tumby Unplugged weekend and throughout the year. Furthermore, Council is committed to supporting community-led initiatives, through event and risk management support.

Return guests and visitors to Tumby Bay are encouraged to retain accommodation bookings and participate in the many community-led activities as part of 2024 Colour Tumby Unplugged. The Tumby Bay community looks forward to welcoming you!
A festival committee was established early in the 2023. The District Council of Tumby Bay will managing event compliance, risk assessment and management activities. Committee members, community leaders and interested community members will lead events.
We are looking forward to a collaborative, small community-led event in 2024. Sponsorship is always welcomed for this event. A sponsorship prospectus for the 2025 Colour Tumby Festival will be circulated early in the new financial year.
Markets
There will not be markets at the 2024 Colour Tumby Unplugged. However, lock in the dates for the 2025 Colour Tumby Festival now - March 7-10 2025. To be part of the 2025 Colour Tumby Festival stallholders / vendors must complete the online permit application form. A link to this form will be available in April 2024 from this location.
Design Challenge: Colour Tumby Festival Program Cover
Thank you to those people who submitted Colour Tumby Festival Program covers as part of this design challenge. Due to the change in festival formal for 2024 to Colour Tumby Unplugged, the winner of the design challenge will be used for the 2025 program. Congratulations to Patrick Bawden!
