Situated on the school grounds the library provides a free public library service to the community. The library is a joint use facility of the District Council of Tumby Bay and the Tumby Bay Area School.

Membership is free. New members need to produce identification showing their name, current address and signature. They will be issued with a personal library card for use when borrowing items. By receiving a library card, the member agrees to accept responsibility for all materials borrowed from the public library network, whether for themselves or their child under eighteen years.

The library is a member of the ONE CARD network so you can use your library card anywhere in the state. You can go online at www.libraries.sa.gov.au/tumbybay and look at materials that are in our library and the rest of the state. By using your borrower number and PIN you can place holds on titles we do not hold in Tumby Bay.

Materials for loan

The Port Neill Depot is located in the Hall and is open on Fridays between 2pm–4pm.

A Library Kiosk is also available at the Port Neill Primary School.

Residents of Port Neill can now go to the Primary School and order library material from the Kiosk and have their items delivered to the school for collection. Open 9am-3pm during the school term.

You don’t even need to go to the kiosk to order your material, you can visit the Tumby Bay catalogue from your home PC 24/7 at https://sapln.ent.sirsidynix.net.au/client/en_AU/tumbybay/.

To get the quickest access to the millions of items available, simply go online and use the reservation system to look up items and reserve them with a click. When your items become available, they will be delivered to the school.

If you like, we can even notify you by email or SMS when to pick up! How’s that for service?

You just need to be a member of any library in SA to utilise this service.

Users of the service will need to notify the Tumby Bay library on 8688 2471 and let the friendly staff know that you would like to collect your items from the school.
