Council has budgeted to install a sandbag seawall to the front of the carpark adjacent the Ritz Café to stop the ongoing erosion and potential undermining of the carpark.
EP Civil and Earthmoving have been contracted for this work and will start from September 2. During the period of works they will be fencing off the carpark to prevent public access. They will also need to restrict public access along the beach in this section, and will direct people back onto the lawn level to pass around the worksite.
Council thanks the community and visitors for their understanding during this period, as this work is dependent on tide and weather conditions.
Customers of the Ritz Cafe can note while the main cafe's carpark is unavailable, on-street parking on Tumby Terrace will not be impacted and will remain available.
