Draft Annual Business Plan 2025-2026
What's happening?
Our Council's Strategic Plan and Annual Business Plan are closely aligned and work together to provide direction on our strategic themes and priorities and how we will implement them.
Our Strategic Plan 2020-2030 is the centrepiece of Council’s strategic management framework. In recognition of the Strategic Plan as a core document that reflects the community’s priorities and guides Council’s future direction, the Council commissioned an independent review and update to its Strategic Plan. The purpose of this review was to evaluate the relevance of existing guiding values and strategic themes to the current community’s aspirations, amending elements if necessary, and then generate a clear set of measurable actions in the form of an Action Plan. The Strategic Plan 2020-2030 - Review was adopted by the Council on 16 May 2024.
The Annual Business Plan sets out the Council’s proposed services, programs, and projects. It aims to maintain efficient services for the community and continue progress towards the longer-term objectives of the Council. After considering community feedback, and various requests throughout the past year along with Council’s adopted Long-Term Financial Plan and Asset Management Plans, Council has prepared an Draft Annual Business Plan 2025-2026 and Budget 2025-2026 for public consultation.
The Draft Annual Business Plan aims to maintain efficient and appropriate services and facilities for the community, without imposing an unrealistic rate burden on ratepayers. The provision of services by Council reflects both meeting Council’s obligations under legislation and making policy choices on behalf of the community to achieve Council’s longer-term goals.
