The District Council of Tumby Bay provides notice to users of the Lipson Ungarra Road that the road will be closed to traffic for approximately 3 days.
As a result of rain delays experienced by the contractor last week, and the forecast of showers in the local area over the next couple of days, works on the Lipson Ungarra Road are now expected to commence on either Saturday 24th or Sunday 25th October.
The road will be closed and detours established just prior to commencement of work, and the exact timing of this will depend on weather conditions over the weekend. It is anticipated that the road will remain closed to traffic on Monday and possibly Tuesday.
The closure is required to allow the application of final bitumen sealing to the recently upgraded Bratten Bridge.
Detours will be in place for the duration of the closure, directing traffic to use Liddicoats Road and Butler Centre Road as an alternative route.
All efforts will be made to minimise the extent of road closure and the Council will continue to provide updates to Facebook and the Council website.
