Australia Day Awards

Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards

The District Council of Tumby Bay holds a bbq breakfast on the lawns opposite the Yacht Club to celebrate Australia Day on 26th January. The following awards are presented to members of the community in recognition of achievements and outstanding contributions to the community:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year (under 30 years of age)
  • Community Event of the Year

Each year the District Council of Tumby Bay invite the community to nominate a worthy recipient for the following awards

Australia Day Citizen Award

To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen.

Australia Day Young Citizen Award

To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen under 30 years of age on 26 January of the current year.

Community Event of the Year Award

Presented to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the past year.
