Australia Day Awards

Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards

Each year the District Council of Tumby Bay invites the community to nominate a worthy recipient for the Australia Day Awards. The awards are presented to members of the community in recognition of achievements and outstanding contributions to the community at a bbq breakfast hosted by the Council on the lawns opposite the Yacht Club to celebrate Australia Day on 26th January. The following awards are presented:

  • Citizen of the Year - To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Young Citizen of the Year - To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen under 30 years of age on 26 January of the current year.
  • Community Event of the Year - Presented to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the past year.
